Your skin will feel tight and look considerably redder than day one. Some oozing is normal and expected — that fluid is part of the healing process. You'll be applying occlusive ointment constantly. Your face will look shiny and wet, not powdered and matte. You cannot cover this with makeup. Anyone who sees you will know something happened. Days 3 to 7 The peeling starts. It doesn't come off in sheets like a sunburn — it's more of a fine, flaking shed, and it can be uneven, so parts of your face are new while parts are still coming off. The urge to help it along is powerful. Don't. Picking at skin that isn't ready is the fastest way to turn a good result into a scar. By day 5 or 6 most people are through the worst of it. By day 7, many are comfortable being seen, though the new skin underneath is bright pink. Week 2 onward The pink is the long tail. It fades gradually over 2 to 8 weeks depending on your skin and the depth we treated. Mineral makeup usually covers it well from around day ten.
